I came to Humboldt as an RCMP recruit in early 1988. Jock was a retired RCMP S/Sgt working as a brand inspector and he also knew my Grand Father who farmed at St Brieux. Jock was very much an old school mountie who commanded instant respect. At first he was a little intimidating to a young recruit fresh from Depot. As I got to know him better he put a real human touch to a tough veneer. Jock was "good people". We all walk in very large shadows of the retired RCMP members of his era and stature.

My heart goes out to the entire Munro family. My deepest sympathy's.
Something I read that helped me along the way...
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

Dear Susan,Rory & David:
Your father embodied all of those qualities that I envisioned a member of the RCMP should possess. It was a pleasure indeed to have worked with him as well as his children. May he R.I.P.
