SO sorry to hear this about this wonder man and doctor. He did surgery and treated me from 2014 until he retired. I believe it was because of him his surgery saved me . I did not need treatment after. Before he retired he contacted me to refer me to someone to do my followup for the next 3 yrs. I was at Dartmouth this week for an appt and saw Dr Murray's pic on the wall. SO I asked the nurses how is he? does he visit? SHE looked at me and told me what happened. I was shocked and so sorry. He was a gentle, IMO which I loved, an Old fashioned doctor. I always tried to jump up and out when exam was finished. He always tried to help me up from exam or off the chair. I got impression all the docs and nurses thought the world of him. Thank you Doc Murray. With sadness, My condolences to Doc Murray's family.

I have been meaning to write since I learned of Dr. Murray's passing. I feel awful about it. He was one of my favorite surgeons to work with in Endoscopy--always soft-spoken and kind. I am devastated that his retirement was short-lived. He deserved so many great things. I'm so sorry for all of you. He will be missed.

It is with sadness that I read of Dr. Murray's passing in the Valley News in Hanover.
I am thankful for his professional care as he guided me through a significant surgery. I would say, He saved my life. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Whenever I mentioned his name at the hospital everyone would comment that I was in extremely capable hands. Thank you Dr. Murray for taking care of me. Your calm demeanor filled me with confidence.

I worked with Dr. Murray for many years and learned so much from him. He was a patient and thorough teacher. Those for whom he cared loved him. When he was in their presence, they knew they had his full attention and the advantage of his expertise. I think he realized the positive impact he had on all of us, and we are honored.

John was the definition of a class act. I was lucky enough to share homerooms with him through junior high and high school. Just a sweetheart of a human being who emanated integrity. The world is a lesser place today. My sincere condolences to Joan and the Murray family.

I am so sorry to read of Dr Murray's passing in the Valley News. I was a patient of his 8 years ago. My surgery was complicated and I was scared but Dr. Murray was brilliant and so very kind and capable. Throughout the whole process he was patient, understanding and so very caring. I knew I was in good hands and felt so lucky that he was my surgeon. My sympathies are with his family.

Deepest sympathy to the family of John Murray, MD. I was a SHS classmate of John's, and I, along with our classmates, had the highest admiration for John's quiet leadership, incredible intelligence, and deep caring in all that he did. This was evident in his being selected to be our Class President. Throughout the years, remarks about John were always so positive, and our admiration for him grew as he continued in his chosen profession. It was an honor to know him, and I am pleased to have been able to reconnect with John at the 45th reunion. Thoughts and prayers to Joan, and the entire Murray family, during this time of loss.

Please accept my offer of sincere and deepest sympathy.
May the beautiful, blessed and cherished memories assist you through these times. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
You will no longer see him with your eyes, touch him with your hands but you will feel him with your hearts forever.
I was John and his twin Joan's English teacher many years ago.

It is with deep sadness that I write to express my sincere condolences to Joan and all of John's family. We were high school classmates and then years later, as employees of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, we would see each other in the halls. I didn't know him well but admired his intelligence, his kindness and his soft spoken manner. May he Rest In Peace.
