John Murtaugh Obituary
He is survived by his Mother, Janet McIlhenny, his Father, John P Murtaugh, his Stepfather, Michael Klauder, and his Stepmother, Renee Murtaugh. His sisters and brothers, Jena (Anthony), Sean (Jenna), Michael, Sarah (Michael), Hannah and Katlyn. His Grandparents, John and Rebecca Murtaugh and Maryjane McIlhenny (Edward). His Niece and Nephews, Anthony, Landon, Parker, Sean, and Leo. His girlfriend, Nicollette Fierko. Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Johnny made his dreams a reality. He knew his heart and followed his passion for tattooing at a young age. His legacy is displayed through his talented artwork and breathtaking tattoos. His adventurous spirit took him around the world and he carried his infectious laughter and captivating smile everywhere he went. His presence lit up every room. Johnny touched the lives of so many. He will be missed tremendously by everyone who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Johnny's memory on August 20th, 2022 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 1019 N. 5th Street Philadelphia PA 19123. The viewing will begin at 8:30 AM followed by Mass at 10:30 AM, with burial to follow at Bethel Memorial Park, Pennsauken NJ.

I got tattooed by Murt when he came out to Denver for a guest spot. It was after a rough part of my life and I got a tattoo based off a song that got me through that period to remind me to keep on loving, keep on fighting. It still helps me whenever I need it and I think of him often.

Murt and I always use to talk and play video games together introducing me to his other friends that he grew up with. He was one of a kind and was very talented in this World. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

I worked with Murt briefly during the end of his apprenticeship. Always so quiet and gentle. The tattoo community is less without him. Rip

I never got to meet John "Murt" but I do know him through one of the people that loved him the most, his grandmother Becky. Her last visit to Detroit recently was full of stories about him and how proud she was of him. I have worked with Becky for many years and she has become my work "mom" and I feel like a part.of my family is gone now, too. My heart goes out to this wonderful family and remember your Michigan family is here for you.

My brother and I got tattoos from Murt. It was my first tattoo and I was really scared but he was so kind and treated us really well. He was so talented and made the process fun and painless. Our tattoos from him are so well done. My brother and I were so shocked sorry to hear of his passing. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones.

I have had the pleasure of working with Becky for many years and fortunate enough to call her a dear friend. I was so, so very sorry to hear the devastating news of Murt. I remember Becky talking about him the last time I saw her and I know how much she loved and was proud of him. My heart & prayers go out to all the family & friends that had the honor of knowing & loving Murt.
