I remember singing with John the summer before our Sophomore year of high school. He was always making up funny songs and dedicating them to me and my sister. He had a talent for making everyone feel special. God Bless you and keep you.

I always loved listening to John entertain. He had a smile that could brighten my day,and a joke to make me laugh. He was certainly a unique individual. I also wish him peace, and only sweet songs to sing.

John and I were in the same high school class. He and I and a couple other buddies (Randy, Steve) used to drive around, listen to music, go to the A&W, check out new cars, etc. He was always fun and funny and loyal friend. We lost touch, but I ran into him a few times through the years. My folks followed his musical events. He was a good man. My condolences to all family and friends.

Words will never describe how John touched so many people with his music, wit, charm, personality, etc. My friend and brother, you will be missed. I will never forget our early years playing music together. What a treasure, and those memories!! You can rest easy John. Your work is done! Until we meet again, my brother, rest in peace.

John was my friend and my brother. He was a man with a mile wide smile, a great laugh and an enormous, generous heart. Through all the years of our friendship, he was always there when I needed him. I dearly loved the man and will miss him terribly.
Where ever you are, I hope you're standing, under a valentine sky, your very own valentine sky.
Peace my brother.

John could light up a room with his smile, his enthusiasm, his jokes or, especially, his music. He pursued his dreams, an admirable quality. My "Paine and Pleasure" t-shirt still hangs in the closet. Maybe I'll get to sing back up for John one more time. You are missed, my friend.

I've known John for many years and have been fortunate to play many gigs with him. He was a consummate entertainer and enjoyed life and music. We recorded together when he was living in Louisville and they were some of the nicest recordings with which I have been associated He loved a good joke and I still tell some he passed on to me way back. I once fell in love listening to him perform and it doesn't get better than that.. He'll be missed. Play well up there John.
