John passed away suddenly on January 24, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Norene, his children; Ernie Penner, Winston Wolfe, Stan Penner, his step- children; Brenda (Cal) Taylor, Dave (Betty Anne) Fisher, Norm (Rebecca Laliberte) Fisher, Darren (Josie) Fisher, Marcie Dekelver and Kim (Jordan Barteski) Fisher, numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren, his sisters; Anne Dyck, Nettie (Ralph) Johnson, Tena Miller, Agatha (Jake) Braun and Elizabeth (Pete) Friesen, brothers; David (Mary) Penner, Corney (Rose) Penner, Henry ( Lorraine) Penner and Bill (Annie) Penner, sisters-in-law Gertie Kometscher and Margaret Penner. John was pre-deceased by his father David Penner, his mother Maria Siemens and siblings, Margaret, Peter, Mary, Abe and Jake. John was born and raised near Hague Saskatchewan where he grew up on the family farm. A devoted husband and father, John raised his family in Dalmeny. When his boys were grown he moved to Saskatoon. John was a talented craftsman who loved working with his hands. His carpentry skills were well utilized at MacDermid Homes and his knowledge of construction and home repairs served customers well at the Home Depot where he retired in recent years. John was proud to serve as an elder and an usher at Westgate Alliance Church. He was a very kind and patient man who loved and cared for his family and his community. Viewing will be held at Dalmeny Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 9:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Dalmeny Community Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Service will be held at Westgate Alliance Church, Saskatoon, SK on Wednesday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan. 279 3rd Avenue North S7K 2J8.
