JOHN NELSON, JR. "JACK"
Of East Liberty on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, age 82. Beloved husband of Dora M. (Christensen) Pflueger; father of Michelle P. (Ric) George, Jon H. (Elizabeth) Pflueger, James R. (Jennifer) Pflueger, and Kathryn P. (Peter) Fehring; doting grandfather of Lauren, Jackson, Jon Michael, Nic, Ella, Ryan, and Julia; brother of Michael E. (Carolyn) Pflueger, Ann D. (Michael) Stefanik, Sandy L. (Bill) Thomas, Cynthia L. (Henry) Paul and the late Ethel E. McMahon and Richard C. Pflueger; also survived by nieces and nephews. A gregarious and charismatic fellow, Jack lived for his seven grandchildren, whom he cherished. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC., www.mccabebrothers.com, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral will commence on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jack's name to the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, 2011 N. Bellefield Ave., Pgh., PA 15213 or www.wpsbc.org.

Dear Dora, Sandy, Cindy, Annie and family,
I just heard about Jack's passing and wanted to extend my heartfelt condolences along with my family's. I remember Jack as being a great family man, happy and funny. We wish you peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

Our sincere condolences and prayers are with the Pflueger family. We couldn't be more sad for the loss of this gentle soul to the world. He had the biggest heart, a playful mischievous manner and a grand contagious smile. He treated Billy like a son and our daughter like a granddaughter of his own, always making us feel loved and welcome. We will miss him dearly and celebrate the heartwarming presence he leaves behind for us and all those lives he touched. Rest in peace Jack. xoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Dora,
It so saddens me to hear of Jacks Passing there are people in your life that leave a lasting impression as you and your family all know to well, Jack was one of them.
The genuine kindness and care for others was so evident when you talked to him yet he was tough, a mans man.... I'm sure he was just as tough on his children that's what helped them to be great adults and he always made it a point to talk about them with such pride.Jack made a lasting impression on many people. I for one, am a better person for that... He will be missed but not forgotten... May you and the family find comfort in knowing that I am just one of many of Jacks friends and acquaintances that has been touched by his grace...Toni and I are so sorry for your loss.
