John Kelly Phillips, age 90, of Maryville, passed away on February 28, 2017. He was a World War II veteran in the United States Army. He retired as a Tennessee State Trooper after over 30 years of service. He was a Mason for over 50 years. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Phillips; parents, Samuel and Xymena Phillips; and siblings, Edward Phillips, James Phillips, Raymond Phillips, Wilker Phillips, Roy Phillips, Ruth Heath, Lucille Johnson, Jessie Parrish, and Mary Crowe. He is survived by his daughter Jan Dotson; sister, Sue Freels; brother, Howard Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Entombment will follow the service. Condolences may be offered at www.sherwoodchapel.net.
