John Prosser Obituary
De Pere - John R. Prosser, Sr. 87, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Green Bay, son of the late James Sr. and Agnes (DeGreef) Prosser. John served in the US Navy from 1956 until 1958 as a Sea Bee. On December 6, 1986 he married Georgiana Lindeman at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish. John was very proud of his volunteer work with the Telephone Pioneers of America building barrier free log cabins for people with disabilities. The "Cabin in the Woods" at Mirror Lake State Park was dedicated in 1991 and the "Cabin by the Bay" in Potawatomi State Park was dedicated in 1995.
John is survived by his wife, Georgiana, De Pere; two sons, John (Ginny) Prosser, Thomas (Janelle) Prosser; a step-son, Steve Westenberger; three daughters, Terri Cardin, Susan (Todd) Haapalainen, Kathleen (Joe) Knuth; many grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Prosser, Bill (Margaret) Prosser, Dave (Sharon) Prosser, Steve Prosser; very dear friends, Sue & Kelly Kohlman and Doug & Vicki Patterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one step-son, AJ Westenberger; a son-in-law, Steve Cardin; one brother, Donald Prosser and a sister, Mary Prosser and a sister-in-law, Mary Prosser.
Cremation has occurred and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish at a later date. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with John's family on his tribute page at www.lyndahl.com.

Big John, knew him at the phone company when he worked for Western Electric. Always a nice guy and pleasant to everybody and had a laugh like no one else. RIP my old friend.

We are very sorry at hearing of John's passing. We enjoyed our friendship with him, and have had very memorable times with John and Georgia. He was a very nice person and will be missed by us. Our thoughts and prayers are with Georgia now. God Bless.
