John Joseph Ptak Jr. went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2020 following a battle with cancer. Services will be held at a later date.
A member of Maynard Baptist Church, John loved God and his church family. He served in the Vietnam War and loved his military brothers and sisters. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and you could often find him in his tree stand reading his bible.
Survivors include his wife Jeannie Ptak; two daughters Judy Christine Montes of Schaumburg, IL and Jennifer J. Lear of Gordon, KY; and six granddaughters Rebbeca, Emily, Judy, Amie, Crystal, and Alexis.

To my dear brother John. Love you and miss you. I find a small comfort in knowing you're with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and our brother Bob. Also with Busia, Jaja and all our aunts, uncles and cousins who were there to greet you with open arms. Pretty sure all the foods you were not able to enjoy for so long were prepared and ready for you. Until we meet again. Love, your sister, Pat ♥

Johnny was a good" brother in arms", I just wish I had got to know him longer before he got sick. I would have really enjoyed him coming to my place to hunt. I will miss him.
