John F. Reising

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of John F. Reising (Jack) who at 83 led a full and loving life. Jack passed away on July 4, 2020. Jack's husband of 42 years, Dominic Bosco passed away in 2013 . Jack and Dominic were always the first to show up, participate and generously donate to a series of worthwhile charities and local causes, including the Human Rights Campaign, AIDS Assistance Program and Desert Aids Project, just to name a few. They together led by example and were always filled with a spirit of kindness and concern.Jack was a loving man and cared deeply for his family and was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Antionette Reising and his sister, Carlene Ritter. He is survived by his sister Helen Bartlett and her husband Bob, brother-in-law George Ritter, nieces and nephews, Melinda (Joe) Britton, Bob (Lisa) Bartlett, Monica Bartlett, Brian (Tracy) Bartlett, Sean Bartlett, Michelle (Ryan) Grindley, George (Carol) Ritter, Chuck (Lynn) Ritter, Carla (Bill) Klatt, along with many great nieces and nephews. Jack was also uncle to Gene and Ave Micco, great niece Leah Micco Fritsch, and great nephew Dominic Micco, as well as their extended families. In addition, Jack was the Patriarch to a close circle of friends that he considered his extended family including Michael Painter, Mark VonderHaar and Ed Torres, Cary Heaton and Todd Kellogg, and Ralph Tardugno and Dave Corbin. Born and raised in Kentucky, Jack also lived in San Francisco and Laguna Beach before finally settling in Palm Springs in 2008. Jack will always be remembered for his zest of life, and wonderfully planned and executed parties. His annual Christmas Eve gatherings with his exquisitely decorated Christmas Tree was truly a labor of love and enjoyed by all. It brought a kind of childlike awe to all who attended.His gifts of acceptance, hospitality, charity and love will live on in all who had the pleasure to be in his presence. We take solace in knowing he is out of pain and with his Creator and beloved husband Dominic. We are sure they are both looking down on us today with a huge smile on their faces.A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later time when it will be possible for all of us to come together and rejoice in his exemplary life.
