Dear Mary, John, Amy, and Kaarn,

My heart goes out to your family. I wish I could say something profound that would bring you comfort in the midst of your sorrow, but there are no words that are adequate. I will however lift you up to our Lord on High, asking His Spirit to intercede on your behalf and to bring to you memories of joy and laughter interspersed amongst the sadness of losing you Husband and Father. To Him who is able to give more than we can ever ask or imagine, I ask His Spirit to rest upon you, that He would bring you peace during the storm and strength for the day! I will pray for you as prompted from this day forward. I'll end this note with a prayer from the Old Testament:

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace!!! ...forever and ever, Amen

We have lost a good, good friend. We always enjoyed getting together with John to go to lunch or to the Club on Tuesdays. He and Tom worked together for so many years and continued to stay in touch with each other. We spend our winters in Arizona and when we would come back to Minnesota we could see how John was slowly slipping. At least he is out of his pain and in a better place.
