John Rockwell II

John James Rockwell II, age 42, of Chalmette, LA passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. A native of St. Bernard Parish, LA, he was a Train Master for Norfolk Southern. John had a larger than life personality, infectious smile and laugh that carried through any room. John loved watching his daughter, Madison play baseball. He shared his love of music with his son, Chance and their favorite band, Chevelle, and spending time with his youngest son, Blayne. To everyone that loves John, and in lieu of tears, please celebrate him in your own way. Go fishing in your favorite spot, have a margarita or two, prank someone, try and talk a lil Cajun. It was John's wish to be cremated and his ashes spread in Lake Catherine where his PaPaw's ashes were brought. There will be no services. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Baas Sr.; paternal grandfather, Steve Rockwell. Left to cherish his memory are his father, John James Rockwell Sr.; mother, Linda Baas Wininger; step father, Edward Wininger; daughter, Madison Rockwell; sons, Chance Rockwell and Blayne Rockwell; sister, Brittney (Eric) Tortorich; brothers, Timothy (Jessi) Wininger, Travis (Christine) Wininger, and Troy (Ashley) Wininger; maternal grandmother, Doris Baas; paternal grandmother, Annette (Dan) Rien; beloved friend, Justin (Maggie) Bordelon; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
