I will never forget my uncle Jack. I remember when I was in grade 8 and I made the football team I got home and told my mom (Joan Rogers Sorokan) I wanted to tell uncle Jack I made it. I think she knew with the time change from Alberta he was probably asleep. Sure enough I woke him up but I still remember how happy he was for me and his words of encouragement. I will miss you uncle Jack and Auntie Sheilah.

We were very saddened to hear of Jakes passing but once again, the thought of him also brought many fond memories to mind.
Jake and She were one of those couples that you just loved to be around. Both when we Garner kids were children and as adults they were always genuinely interested in how and what you had going on in your life. They had such a love of life.
I will always remember Jakes deliberate spoonerisms, and wonderful sense of humour.
Our condolences to the Rogers clan.

To Kelly & John: I'm sorry for your loss. Your Dad was really special! Of all my childhood friends parents - Jake was my favourite "Dad". He was sweet, funny, and devilishly fun. He leaves a legacy of many great memories to make us all smile. He will never be forgotten.

Great man down, never to be forgotten. There will always be fond memories of Jake's sincere handshake, genuine greeting smile along with his uncanny ability to find the boys (twice!) under age drinking in the park behind chez Overbank. Big hug to the Rogers/ McRogers family. The Joy of Life is always with him. Cheers!

So sorry to hear about Jake's passing. We will miss him very much. Spent many hours with both Jake and Sheilah in SanLan and their home in New Hamburg. It was an honour to have known both of them.

To the Rogers's family may you celebrate a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever, we had many good card games with your Dad at Sanlan and also had a few jokes to tell he was a wonderful man.
