John P. Rosenwald

John P. Rosenwald died at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, November 2, 2006 at the age of 78. Mr. Rosenwald was born in St. Cloud, MN August 24, 1928 to Arthur and Dora Rosenwald. Mr. Rosenwald served in the US Army for 7 years, received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of MN in 1957, and worked for Boeing as a Senior Propulsion Research Engineer for 35 years.

Mr. Rosenwald married Mary Jones of Wyoming in 1953 and they had two daughters. He cared for his wife throughout her challenges with Multiple Sclerosis and cancer.

Mr. Rosenwald is survived by Betty Gardner Rosenwald, his second wife of 25 years; daughters Judy Adcock and Peter of Renton, Janet Bechtel and Allan of Bellevue; sister Gloria Seiler of Mercer Island; stepchildren Randal Gardner and Cathy of La Jolla, CA; Deb Gardner and Peter Robinson of Mancos, CO; and Rick Gardner of Kent; five grandsons, four stepgrandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Mercer Island, the American Diabetic Association, or Providence Hospice of Seattle.

Memorial services will be held December 16, 2006 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island at 2:00 p.m.

Very sorry to hear about John's passing. He always had a way of lighting up the office place in the "Engine Room" at Everett Boeing Propulsion and make everyone laugh just when we really needed to. Best regards and condolences to the grieving family members.
