John J. "Jack" Roth died on November 10th, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born July 29th, 1953 in Wheeling, WV. He was a proud graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in Accounting. He began his career as a CPA with the firm Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell and then went to work with the Verland Foundation of Pittsburgh. He recently retired with over 25 years as Chief Financial Officer at McGuire Memorial, Daugherty Twp., Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred D. Roth and Mary Elizabeth (Shaughnessy) Roth, both of Wheeling, WV. Surviving are his brother, Fred D. Roth, Jr. (Shirley); two nephews, John Derrick Roth (Ashley) of Roanoke, Va., Frederick Daniel Roth III (Michelle), Los Angeles, CA; a niece, Carrie Roth Bauer (Mark) of Port Orange, Florida; two great-nephews, Brady and Christian; two great-nieces, Kaitlyn and Emily. He was blessed with very special friends that became his "Pittsburgh Family". Paul and Barb Rocchini and their three children, Lisa, Paul, and David; also, Gemma and Dan Bowen and their children, Jake and Blake. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan. He and his brother Fred held season tickets and attended games over a 40-year period. He also loved his Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pirates and Steelers. Friends will be received Friday, November 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at J. J. SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, Pa. McGuire Memorial will have a prayer service Friday at 3:30p.m. in the funeral home. A blessing service will be held Saturday, November 16th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Tom Kredel, officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Cecilia's Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to McGuire Memorial, 2119 Mercer Road, New Brighton, Pa 15066.
