John Russo

John Patrick Russo passed peacefully January 20, 2023, at Hartford Hospital in the intensive care unit due to a cerebellum stroke from high blood pressure surrounded by his family. Born in Hartford September 9, 1960, to Edwina Russo Futtner South Windsor, and the late Julius 'Chet' Russo. He is survived by a sister Beth Russo Emanuelson and her husband Fred of Brewster, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. A niece Erin Emanuelson of Cape Cod, Nephew Erik Emanuelson of New Hampshire, and also many cousins. After graduation from Newington High School John went on to Eastern State University and graduated in 1984. Upon graduation, he delivered a car to Colorado and went on to San Francisco where he lived for the next 30 years. He owned a medallion taxi cab and John lost the ownership when Uber and Lyft taxi cabs became cab owners. He came back to Connecticut in 2014 and lived in Vernon and South Windsor. John was a gentle soul, kind, calm, and mild-mannered. There was nothing harsh or stern about his being. John loved reading and music and travel to Australia and many times to Nicaragua.
