John Howard Simmons Jr.

John Howard Simmons Jr, aged 74, of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024. He was born on May 25, 1950, in Columbus, to the late John Howard Simmons Sr. and Mary E. Simmons. He was a graduate of Whetstone High School and Otterbein College, and will be remembered for his wit, strength of character, and love of sports, especially golf.

John was a respected figure in the golf industry, where he combined his passion for the sport with his professional endeavors. As an independent golf representative he sold golf gear and accessories to a large portion of Columbus. He also worked with Julian Speer Co and owned an Ink Well.

A man of many virtues, John was cherished for his kindness and humor. He had the ability to light up a room and was often described as a favorite patient by medical professionals, a testament to his amiable nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Simmons; brother, Tom Simmons (Reva); Linda Simmons, the mother of his children, sons, Kevin Simmons (Amy) and T.J. Simmons; and his grandchildren, Jonathon "J.J." Simmons, Kaleigh Simmons, and Kevin Simmons Jr. John's legacy is one of familial pride and joy, particularly in the achievements of his sons and grandchildren.

A small memorial service is planned for the fall of 2025 at The Union Cemetery Association, where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate his life. His absence leaves a void in the lives of many, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in peace.
