John Raymond STROUD Vice-Chairman of Canadian Council of Veterans Affairs, President of Hong Kong Veterans Association of Ontario and EX-POW of WWII. Suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 in his 87th year. John, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty). Loving father of Dale Slater, Gary and his wife Connie, and Edward and his wife Joelle. Proud grandfather of Jeffrey and Kevin Slater, Lauren and Hailey Stroud, and Sterling Stroud. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A private family service at Spring Creek Cemetery, 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga, Ontario, will be conducted on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Dewi Sant Welsh United Church, 33 Melrose Avenue, Toronto, Ontario at 12:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. To honour John's memory, donations to Sunnybrook Foundation - Veterans Wing, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5 would be appreciated by the family.
