I had Mr. Struck for World History one summer at TJ. He was a truly wonderful teacher -- kind, knowledgeable, funny. He was one of my favorites, a sentiment I know I shared with many of my friends and peers. He will be missed dearly.

I had the privilege of working with John for five years at TJHSST. He was a great colleague and friend. John was a truly outstanding teacher who cared about his students and taught history with integrity and passion. I was devastated when I heard about his passing...obviously far too young. There is comfort in knowing that he was a man of faith.

John Struck was one of the best and kindest teachers I had. His energy and enthusiasm are part of why I studied history at university and am interested in it to this day. I was so sorry to hear of his death so young. He and his family will be in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about John Struck's passing. He was my AP US History teacher at TJ in 2003-2004, and undoubtedly one of the best teachers I had the privilege of learning from. Whenever I came back to visit TJ during my breaks from college, he was always one of the first teachers I would visit. I was never particularly interested in History growing up, but Mr. Struck had a remarkable ability of not only keeping our class engaged, but also tying the historical lesson of the day back to something relatable to a bunch of 16-17 year olds in the 21st century. He genuinely cared about his students (not just our grades, but our overall well-being) - and while he certainly prepared us well for the AP exam, I think more importantly (through his patience, kindness, and unwavering humor) he prepared us all to lead enriching lives after high school. Sending my love and prayers to the Struck family.
