JOHN MIKE SZEKERES

SZEKERES JOHN MIKE SZEKERES, age 88, of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away Nov. 21, 2011 in Rockledge, FL. John was born in Cleveland, and was the son of Hungarian immigrants, the late Michael and Elizabeth (nee Karabinus) Szekeres. He spent most of his life in Parma, before moving to Cocoa Beach, FL. Loving husband of Arlene E. (nee Hall) for 68 years. Dear father of Susan (Hank) Buczak, Sally (Jud) Connelley, Marcia (N. Terry) Hart, and Jill (Dan) Wendorff. Cherished grandfather of Andrea (Shaun) Street, Douglas Buczak, Amanda, Elizabeth and Daniel Wendorff. Great grandfather of Braedon, Shae and Kealeigh Street. Dear brother of Edward (Shirley) Szekeres. When W.W. II broke out, he joined the U.S. Navy. John served on the repair ship USS Hector at the time it was commissioned. He worked in the optical shop while the ship served in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he became a tool and die maker and enjoyed a long and successful career. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and became a stained glass craftsman. Celebration of Life Service- Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at 6 p.m. at THE BAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2089 COLUMBIA RD., VALLEY CITY, OH. Rev. Bert Ambrose, Jr. will officiate. CALLING HOURS SUNDAY 2-4 P.M. AND FOLLOWING THE SERVICE UNTIL 8 P.M. At John's request cremation will follow service and interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
