John Tapp Obituary
He was the son of Dr. James M. Tapp and the late Frances Cambron Tapp.
Jack was an East Hardin High School graduate, earned his associate degree from American Culinary Arts Institute in New York and was a well-known and highly respected chef by trade, having worked in serveral of Louisville's finest eating establishments.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie Silbernik; his father and stepmother, Dr. James and Dee Tapp; four sisters, Martina Spalding (Danny), Melissa Gaddie (Jeff), Melanie A. Tapp and Monique Waits (Jerry); three nieces, Laine Cambron Gaddie, Emma and Molly Hales; a nephew, Austin Waits; his wife's parents, Marda and Marty Silbernik; and a sister-in-law, Kim Hales.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday with a memorial service following at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, Bardstown Road, Louisville. Burial will be private.

Jack was my brother Tom's friend and I had not spoken to him in 30 years when he called me out of the blue to offer his condolences over the death of my good friend Billy Schuler. Such kindness and consideration is rarely encountered. My condolences and best wishes to Jack's family and friends.
