Without a doubt Jack was an original. Although it has been many years since we have seen Jack we have often thought of him. Our family has so many fond memories of the time that we spent with him at Notre Dame and also at our home with our son Gerry, Jr. His humor was appreciated by our entire family as he impersonated the characters on Saturday Night Live and of course his rendition of the song, "Take this Job and Shove It".
My husband and I couldn't help but reminisces about the night he spent the night and when our 92 year old Grandma was surprised by Jack as he impersonated a ghost-- he was supposed to surprise Gerry, Jr. but accidentally mixed up the bedrooms and entered her room by mistake rather than Gerry Jr's. Needless to say, I'm not sure who was more shocked, but it certainly got the household's attention and has been a cause for laughter for many years.
We are so sorry for your loss. We'll remember him in our prayers and hope that your memories of the good times will see you through this time of sorrow.
