Dear John Trakas,

Thank you very much for your selfless service to our nation, and for voluntarily stepping forward at the darkest of hours to risk your life in one of the most desperate fights for the survival of freedom that the world has ever seen. May God bless you and welcome you into his warm and loving embrace, and may your gentle soul rest in the eternal peace that you so richly deserve. You will be ever so deeply and sorely missed by your nation and all of those who you have left behind.

Sincerely,

Surviving WWII Veterans

and

The United States of America

These are men who helped make our Country into the beacon of hope that it is today. John Trakas did it all and everyone was his friend; he had no enemies. He earned it the hard way. They don't make them like him any more. God Rest Your Soul.

This is dedicated with the deepest love and respect to the long life and substantial accomplishments of the kindest man that I have ever met. It has been my distinct honor to have known John C. Trakas for the past 25 years of my life, including the past 15 years as his son-in-law. He is the textbook definition of the "Greatest American Generation" and I simply lack the ability to express in words the profound sense of loss that I currently feel upon his passing. My life will never be the same without his kind presence included as a part of it; although he will, in memory and spirit, never cease to be an essential guiding element of the rest of the days of my life.

TO THE TRAKAS FAMILY,
MY FAMILY WERE PATIENTS OF THE GOOD DR. TRAKAS FROM HIS OFFICE IN BROOKLINE TO HIS NEW LOCATION IN BRIGHTON.I PERSONALLY WAS DEVASTATED WHEN DR TRAKAS RETIRED AS IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO REPLACE HIM.I EXPERIENCED A PARALIZED VOCAL CORD AFTER THE BIRTH OF MY FIRST CHILD, IT WAS DR TRAKAS WHO CONTINUALLY REASSURED ME THAT IN TIME ALL WOULD BE WELL. APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS LATER RECOVERY OCCURRED. I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL TO DR. TRAKAS AS HE HELPED ME THRU THAT VERY DIFFICULT TIME. WHAT DR DO YOU KNOW THAT GAVE OUT HIS HOME PHONE? DR TRAKAS DID AND WE DID CALL. BE PROUD OF THIS GREAT MAN. DR TRAKAS IS A FIRST CLASS ACT WHO HAD GREAT COMPASSION FOR ALL HE TREATED.
WE EXTEND OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL OF YOU.

Mike Casey

I would like to extend my sympathies to Dr. Trakas's family.

I was a patient of Dr. Trakas during my first year in college when I was suffering from throat infections. Dr. Trakas diagnosed tonsillitis and performed the surgery at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

He was a great doctor and a very, very nice man - refined, educated and confident.
