Dear brother of Mary Karres of Charlotte, NC and the late Patricia Trakas & Mimi Tingus. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews & cousins. Retired surgeon and former Chief of ENT Dept. at Children's Hospital Boston and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Brighton. Retired member of the staff at Mass. Eye & Ear Infirmary, Boston, V.A. Medical Center, Boston and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. Retired faculty member of Harvard Medical School. Graduate of Boston Latin School, Harvard College, and Harvard Medical School. 50-Year Member of The Harvard Club of Boston. Former Pres. of Brookline Lions Club and former Treas. of The Arahova Society of New Eng. WW II veteran (Lt. Col., U.S. Army, Ret.). Unit surgeon for the 9th Army Armored Division. Recipient of Bronze Star Medal with Valor and multiple distinguished citations, campaign medals and battle ribbons for combat service in the European Theater of Operation in the Ardennes Offensive, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Bastogne and Battle of Remagen. Funeral Service at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England, 514 Parker St., (at Ruggles St.), Boston, Tues., at 11 AM. Relatives and friends cordially invited.
