John was my friend. We knew each other for some 25 years. We met at the Greendale YMCA and John and his wife Rose also became my insurance clients. John was caring and always interested in how I was doing and I with him. This is a beautiful thing when there is total trust extending from a personal friendship, and then to business as well. I will miss John and his wonderful wife Rose. They were the best!

To Troiano Family:

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I was saddened to read that John had passed away. We were old friends for many years from the Greendale YMCA. He was an icon at the “Y” who will be greatly missed by many. He always had that smile and laugh when he met you.

Even after I moved away, we still stayed in touch with each other by periodically phoning one another. We just spoke to one another this past Veteran’s Day when I called him to wish him a Happy Veterans’ Day. I am glad I had the opportunity to talk to him. I will miss those calls.

Rest in peace my old friend.

Johnny- you were a true light in my life- I always looked forward to your thoughts, insights and infinite wisdom. You made all my trips to the Greendale YMCA so much fun. Such a gentle soul with such a caring heart. We shared so many stories and true life experiences always always ending in your classic laugh/chuckle. I remember so many stories- how you and Rosie met and your first date sledding together- you two were made for each other and now you are both together again holding hands and enjoying each other for eternity!

God bless you Johnny and hopefully you have found another great lap pool in heaven. No more valet parking for you buddy- I know you are at piece and I feel so blessed to have had you as a good friend!

RIP- Steve "Rosey" Rosenthal

Rest In Peace my good friend. We instantly had a bonded friendship from the first time we met on Alvarado Ave over 60 years ago. Meeting at the YMCA after swimming became a ritual that I greatly looked forward to.
We shared many stories about work, friends and most importantly family. Your love and dedication to your wife Rose ( Rowy) was inspiring and you never failed to mention your beautiful daughters.
John will always hold a special place in my heart.
May his memory be eternal.
