I write this with great sadness over the unimaginable loss of my dear friend Johnny.

My friend was loving and real (often times a real pain). He was a wonderful father and laid a strong foundation for George.

Johnny's beautiful spirit will live on through his family- Nella, George and Barbara and they will always know how much he loved them.

Rest in peace my friend you will always be loved and forever in our hearts hope to see you again. Love you! ????

As I'm writing this my heart is heavier than I can ever remember. I wish we could have one more conversation So I can tell you I am so proud to have been able to call you my brother-in-law. You have been my family for 28 years and I can't remember my life without you in it and it breaks my heart that I'll never see you again. I THANK YOU for everything that you have done for me. You were a special and unique person. Thanks for all the advice and for always being there for me. I especially miss your sense of humour. You were truly the funniest person I know. You were too young to go Johnny, and only God' knows why. You are so loved and so missed. You may be gone but never forgotten... All my love, Barbara

Johnnie all I can say is Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were not only a cousin to me but a brother I never had.We grew up together and our families followed each other from Canada to Florida we were unseperated til 9/4/2014...when you were called as an angel. This day has taken away so much from me.I sit and think of all the things you did and all the pranks you would play and it will bring a smile to my face.We would argue like siblings but in the end I always knew you had my back. You never once belittled me with anything just gave me brotherly advice that I will forever treasure.I will never forget our talks at work when there was nothing to do.I must admit we were very much alike.People would tell me that we where always the life of parties and make people laugh.I miss you so much,I hear time heals but as each day passes it gets harder and harder. All my life we were together and now I have to get used to living life without you.I will always treasure every bit of memories and hold them close to my heart.RIP my dearest cousin may you make the heavens laugh like you did here on earth.Forever in my heart Niki Silva(TANA).

My uncle had the capacity to impact each life he encountered. Whether he was going to a family gathering or greeting a customer at the restaurant, he made his presence known. And although he was more stubborn that he would ever admit, he had a good heart. Oftentimes, what he said was only a side-effect of his cynical sense of humor that we all know and love, but deep down inside he loved his family and friends unconditionally.
I guarantee many people have a story that begins with "remember that one time Johnny and I ...?" He was a cornerstone of this family, and everyone had a special and unique bond with him. Whether it was going out for a good time, watching a hockey game, or getting 2pm breakfast at sub-par country-themed breakfast restaurants, everyone has at least one unforgettable memory with my uncle that has helped define who we are today.
On a personal level, John was more than just an uncle to me. He was my godfather, my Nouno, and treated me as nothing less than a son. It would take me hours to list the multitude of things he has done for me, so I just want to express my gratitude. He gave me more than I could have ever imagined, and was always willing to give more on top of it. No matter how I was feeling, his fun-loving personality and signature chuckle always managed to put a smile on my face. This is what I will miss most, but I know that he will continue making people laugh uncontrollably wherever he may be.
It's amazing to see how far-reaching the love for my uncle is, and I believe it's proof that he had a resonating effect on the lives he touched. Let us pray that his soul finds peace and that he is welcomed into the Kingdom of God with open arms. We must remember not to be selfish in this time of grief, because he is no longer suffering. Instead, I intend to celebrate my Nouno's life and bask in the realization that he has joined his mother in eternal happiness.

Johnny,

A man who laughed.
Wholehearted!
He brought us joy!
Departed!

He thrived for love.
Defeated!
A man whose smile,
Depleted!

He wished for peace.
'twas hidden!
He should have lived.
Yet didn't!
