It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved John who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the age of 70. Dear husband and best friend of Mary Droggitou for the past 48 years. Loving father of Ted (Sara). Cherished grandfather of his beloved Helena and Alexandre. Predeceased by his brother Chris. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Nitsa (Peter) Demakos and Domna (Spiro) Zervos. John worked diligently for the past 53 years at Velan Engineering, initially as a Set-Up man and rising up to Plant Manager of Plant 1. He continued to work throughout his illness for 18 months up until his hospitalization on March 11, 2015. John's passion for the game of soccer has never been far from his heart. He started playing at the age of four in his native country, Greece. He will be greatly remembered and missed by his nephews, nieces, many friends and colleagues. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9B 2A6. Funeral Service will take place at Saints Constantine and Helen, 20 Brunswick Boulevard, Dollard- des-Ormeaux on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, www.cancer.ca.
