John Venczel

VENCZEL, John Zoltan September 8, 1921 - November 14, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John, beloved father of Stephan, Anna, Christina and Alex. John, the eldest of two children, was born in Tarcal, Hungary and came to Canada in 1950, where he met and married his beloved wife Elizabeth Hodossy (born in Budapest, Hungary) in 1951. John was predeceased by his sister Ance, nephew Stephen, granddaughter Kandace Nicole and his wife Elizabeth. As well as John's children, he is survived by five grandchildren; Joshua, Elliott, David, Sean and Arona; one daughter-in-law Ann; two sons-in-law Don and Tom; and a nephew and a niece in Hungary (George and Eva). John and Elizabeth were blessed to have such a dear friend Tim Ernst, who offered his unwavering support and love throughout their lives. The family also gives special thanks to all of his caregivers at the Rockyview Hospital, and the Sarcee and Chinook Hospices. John's Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 19, 2010 at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME (corner of 17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W., Calgary).
