John Watson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
John Edward Watson, 66, of Millville, Massachusetts, passed away on January 4, 2025.

John was the beloved husband of Ann Marie Watson, whom he often referred to as the love of his life. He is also survived by his son, James Watson, and James's partner, Charles "CJ" Paquette. John's cherished "grand-dogs," Bentley and Penny, brought him much joy. He leaves behind five siblings: Cheryl Watson of Phillips, Maine; Debra Watson, Patricia Watson, and Lori Watson, all of Ocala, Florida; and his only brother, David Watson of Zephyrhills, Florida.

Born into a military family, John was raised in the Air Force and eventually settled in Millville. He proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS America before transitioning to a long career with the Air Force. John retired in October 2021 from Hanscom Air Force Base after more than 30 years of combined service in the military and civilian roles supporting the armed forces. His dedication to his country was a defining part of his life.

An avid sports fan, John enjoyed cheering on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was also passionate about American history and spent much of his free time learning about the nation's past.

A wake will be held on Monday, January 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cartier Funeral Home, 151 South Main Street, Bellingham, MA. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m., also at Cartier Funeral Home. Burial will take place afterward at St. Paul's Cemetery in Blackstone.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his legacy of service and devotion bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.
