John N. Werner, a cherished resident of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 73, with family. Born on March 9, 1951, John was known for his vibrant spirit and enduring wit, with a deep appreciation for Buddy Holly, the works of John Steinbeck, and a passion for football.

John's life journey took him from his beloved Philadelphia to a memorable period in San Francisco, California, before returning to his roots. He is survived by his son, Mark Werner, and his former wife, Una Werner. He leaves behind his sister, Rosemary Bonner (Joseph), and brother-in-law, Joseph Wolicki (Patricia RIP), as well as his cousins, Peggy (Armand RIP) and Eleanor (Frank), and a wide circle of friends. His extended Irish family, including sisters-in-law Mary Sheridan (Paddy) and Eileen Doyle (Aidan), along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, also mourn his passing.

John's life will be celebrated on December 5th, with a gathering at 10 a.m., followed by a Christian service at 11 a.m. at the Joseph A. Quinn Funeral Home, located at 5358 Roosevelt Blvd (Sanger Street), Philadelphia. In accordance with his wishes, John has been cremated, and his ashes will be interred in Ireland at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Doctors Without Borders, reflecting John's compassionate spirit and commitment to helping others. John will be remembered for his zest for life, his quick humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
