John White Obituary
He was born February 17, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa to Jerry A. and Janet L. (Falls) White. On February 26, 2000 he married Lisa J. Marsh in Grand Blanc, Michigan. They have two young sons Zach 8 and Rex 4.
John graduated from City High School in 1981, and attended the University of Iowa.
John was a professional Arabian Horse Trainer. He and his wife Lisa Jo, established John White Stables in Woodstock, Illinois 19 years ago. He was very proud of his sons Zach and Rex who have enthusiastically followed in his footsteps. Both boys began competing in the show ring this past summer.
John enjoyed golfing and fishing, but mostly he enjoyed participating in these activities with his sons.
He is survived by his wife Lisa; two sons, Zach and Rex; his mother, Janet White Cramer and step-father, W.D. Cramer of Coralville, Iowa; in-laws, Pete and Jo Marsh of Grand Blanc, MI.; two sisters, Rebecca White of Omaha, NB., Kathy Susan White of Tampa, FL.; two brothers, Jeffrey White of Boston, MA., J.D. (Darla) White of Plano, TX.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry A. White in 1988; and his grandparents.
The family is especially grateful for the personalized care provided by the staff at both Northern Illinois Medical Center and the Sage Cancer Center.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, Il 60050.
Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, March 20, at the funeral home.
For those wishing to send an expression of condolence, an education fund for Zach and Rex has been established at McHenry Savings Bank, 353 Bank Drive, McHenry, Il 60050 or memorials to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 651 W. Washington, Chicago, IL 60661 would be appreciated.

To John's family- Though my family, Dr. Neal First, Patrick and Nick only knew John through years of showing horses and Region X activities, we admired and respected him. He was a gentleman and WOW did he love a good English horse! Our hearts and prayers are with you. After we moved to MS 2 years ago, Neal was stricken with bladder cancer and we are still fighting his battle. John's legacy will never die - The children he produced and loved and the horses he trained will carry on in John's wonderful tradition. I do remember the last time that I saw him at a show, his children were with him and he had one in the saddle in front of him. Dear Lisa, Zach, Rex & Jeff, much love and thoughts go out to you at this very difficult time. I will always remember John. I used to groom for Mike Miller - 14 (?) yrs ago, before moving to FL. I always enjoyed watching Mike and John compete on amazing horses.
