Edith (Rose) Long, 95, of Greensburg, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at her home. She was born Aug. 24, 1912, in Cercemaggiore, Italy, a daughter of the late Domenick and Libera (Izzi) Rose. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg, its Rosary Altar Society, the Cercemaggiore Association, and was a former leader and treasurer of TOPS, Pa. 135. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Long Sr., on Sept. 10, 1983; a son-in-law, John F. "Jack" Omelite, in 1991; a brother, Thomas J. Rose Sr., in 1981; a sister, Josephine Guttilla, in 1985; and five grandchildren, Jude Marie, Edith Elizabeth, Martha Ann and Jacqueline Marie Omelite, and Robin Long. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Omelite, Nancy Long and Connie Powell, all of Greensburg, Thomas J. Long and his wife, Bonnie, of Greensburg, Richard M. Long and his wife, Marlene, of Trauger, and James A. Long Jr., of Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Michelle Long, Kelley Geary and her husband Cale, Mary Anne King and her husband James, Thomas J. Long II and his wife Jennifer, Dawn Wackowski and her husband Douglas, Jennifer Long, Deborah Horvath and James A. Long III; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Angelo Rose, and three sisters, Carrie Rose, Anna Mary Pandolph and Phyllis Trout, all of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Monsignor Raymond E. Riffle as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
