Uncle Johnnie, You will truly be missed. I remember so many smiles and hugs you offered my family. I especially remember every summer coming down to Petersburg with Bobbie and Grandma. I would always spend the night at your house and laugh at Muriel and Raven teasing John III about the movie Sleepwalkers and how you would join in which was hilarious. I have to admit I was little scared of the movie then myself. But I know you are looking down from heaven with Bobbie admiring us from a far. I will always love you and will always remember how you would call my mother chin lady and my sister Pam face. You are the best uncle a niece could ask for I love you so much its so hard to believe you are gone but I know you are always there to guide us. I miss you always Nina!

To the family of Deacon John W. Wilkerson:
John was a man of few words not until you set him off but it had to be something that was involving one of his staff members that he supervised or one of the clients. He was a good friend, my supervisor, and my boss man during our work at Southside Va. Training Center Petersburg, Va. My name was Winnie Poo to him and his name was Boss Man for me. Rest in peace my friend and you made the world a better place just by being who God made you to be. A man of God, a husband, grand father,my friend and a teacher to many. To the family-- He is gone from the problems of this world but will always be with you within your hearts.

Mr. Wilkerson was kind, and very generous! He had a way of brightening everyone's day simply with a greeting. The students respected him and his tall stature made all of us look and listen when he spoke. I never heard him raise his voice to command attention. He will be dearly missed by many colleagues and educator friends. My deepest condolences to his family. Please find comfort in knowing we loved him too.

Mrs. Betty, I am truly sorry to hear about the passing away of Deacon John. Whenever I visited Union Grove the two of you greeted me with much love and care. It is going to be hard not to see him not sitting on the second row beside you giving "God the Glory". I pray that God will give you and the rest of the family strength to get through this most difficult time.
I know that you know that God is a comforter and will do just that in your time of need.
Sincerely, Sorrowfully Submitted
