WINANS, JOHN ROBERT John Robert "Bob" Winans, age 89, passed away July 21, 2012, at home with the family at his side. He was born April 15, 1923, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Lynn and Helen Winans. He was the oldest of 2 siblings. The family moved to San Diego in the early 1930s. Bob received a business degree from Woodbury College and served in the army during WWII. On March 12, 1949, he married Helen, his wife of 63 years. He was a State Farm Insurance agent for over 30 years. He was also a successful real estate investor. Bob enjoyed sailing, playing clarinet in a band, and spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his wife Helen, sister Jolyn, sons Bill and Don, grandchildren Teresa, Sherry and Bradley, and great- grandchildren Brandon, Daniel, Anthony and Megan. He was preceded in death by his eldest son John Preston Winans. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at El Camino Memorial at 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA. Burial will be held in private. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service.

Our deepest condolences to Helen and all of Mr. Winans' family. What a milestone to have been married for 63 years! We are grateful for the legacy he left in depending our freedoms by his service in WWII. We pray that wonderful memories and comfort and peace from the heart of God will help you through your grieving.
