John Winstead Obituary
Gaffney - John Lynn Winstead, 74, of 199 Foxfire Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Mary Black Health System Gaffney.
Born in Pacolet, he was the husband of Joyce Gilfillian Winstead and son of the late Clay Winstead and Mamie Ruth Odell Winstead. He retired from Milliken and attended New Harvest Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Michael Winstead and wife, Sherry, of Inman; a daughter, Lisa Michelle Lindey and husband, Doug, of Greer; a stepson, Jimmy Huskey and wife, Gaye, of Goose Creek; a stepdaughter, Deborah Huskey Ruppe of Boiling Springs, SC; four brothers, Gene Winstead of Pacolet, Bobby Winstead of Jonesville, Bill Winstead of Marina, CA and Roger Winstead and wife, Janet of Chesnee; two sisters, Dorothy Smith Burns and husband, Cluff, of Spartanburg and Linda Davis of Jonesville; nine grandchildren; thirteen greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rector and three brothers, James (Bud) Winstead, David (Punk) Winstead and Charles (Beanie) Winstead.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Pastor Robert Wells officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
The family will be at the residence after the graveside service.
