Roma,

I am so sorry to hear of John's death. I feel it as a personal loss. He was very, very gracious to me and introduced me to a teaching environment I enjoyed thoroughly. He was simply the best teacher I ever experienced and there is no one who can replace him. When I came to visit his office and your home we talked a bit about the fate of the courses after his death. I told him then that if there is anything I could do at that point I would.

Roma,

If there is anything you need especially in filling in for teaching a portion of a course then please do not hesitate to ask.
