John Wolfe

Wolfe, John 9/13/1944 - 12/22/2022 Byron Center On December 22, 2022, Dr. John Roger Wolfe, D.O. of Byron Center, Michigan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was 78. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol, their children Megan Wolfe and David Swain, Dr. Adam and Dr. Andrea Wolfe, and their granddaughters, Olivia, Isabella and Sadie. John grew up in Plymouth, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI in 1966 and was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. John completed his medical degree at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri in 1971 and his internship and residency at the Pontiac Michigan Osteopathic Hospital in 1976. He was a practicing surgeon for 30 years in Saginaw, MI. Upon retirement he spent his time restoring a 1954 wooden Chris-Craft boat he named Full Circle. He launched the boat with this family in 2014. An avid outdoorsman and prolific vegetable gardener, John was happiest fishing on one of the great lakes, hunting deer in the woods of Michigan and harvesting the many varieties of tomatoes he grew every summer. During the winter months you could find him rooting for his home-town hockey team the Detroit Red Wings. At John's request there are no memorial events planned. Donations to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Waterways fund in his memory are encouraged as an alternative to flowers.
