JOHN WOOMER Obituary
JOHN J., Jr.
Age 61, of Verona, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Beloved son of John J. and Betty (Barnum) Woomer, Sr.; loving husband for 38 years of Darlene (McGinnis) Woomer; father of Emily (Greg) Sturges and Allyson Woomer; pap of Nora, Anna, and Connor; brother of Donna (Jay Wetmore) Rowe and Marge (Chip) Price. John was an avid golfer and cyclist, who often rode to and from work. He will be remembered as being the best son, husband, father, Pap, and friend to all. He expected little, but always gave the most. Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 during a memorial visitation from 3-7 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Donations may be made in his name to ALS Association, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022.

John was my neighbor when our families lived on 8th Street in Verona back in the 60's & 70's. While I didn't know him well my recollection was he was always polite & friendly. When we were older I often would see him ride the PAT bus on his way to work. He was pleasant & would give his seat up for older folks.
My Mother has remained good friends w/ his Parents & I offer my condolences to them & his Family.
