In Loving Memory of Johnathan Delaney Gorman

It has been two years since our cherished Johnathan Delaney Gorman left us on that painfully beautiful summer day on Thursday, July 27th, 2023. A day that will forever linger in our hearts with a heavy weight. He was only 32 years old.

JD was born on April 22nd, 1991, in Portland, OR to Douglas and Kumiko (Nakamoto) Gorman. Before his second birthday, they moved to the family ranch in Madras, OR, where JD grew into a charming little cowboy mastering all the cowboy mannerisms. He loved going for rides on the tractor with his dad and was always a helpful hand during calving season. The family moved to Camas, WA when he was seven. He was an active boy who enjoyed playing soccer and jumping on the trampoline with his siblings and friends. Later, they moved to Duvall, WA, where JD spent the rest of his school years. There, he forged lifelong friendships and became a talented wrestler, competing in numerous state championships, much to the delight of his family who loved watching him on the mat. He was known for his remarkable character and infectious laughter that always filled the room; if you close your eyes, you can still hear it to this day.

After high school, JD followed his heart and pursued his passions for art and music. This marked the beginning of his journeys as a free-spirited traveler. He moved to California to join Third Eye Pinecone. During this time, he refined his artistic talents and became deeply involved in festival life across the US and internationally. JD returned to Washington state in 2020 with his partner, Lo.

JD had a kind soul, gentle heart, and was fiercely loyal to those he loved. His beautiful smile and compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone he met. He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Kumiko; his siblings Erin (Kerry), Dugg, and Molly; and he was a wonderful uncle to Juniper, Holden, Claire, and Shiloh.and so many family members and friends whom he loved unconditionally.

We love you and miss you beyond words, JD. How I wish I could hold you just one more time. I feel closest to you when I'm surrounded by the natural beauty you love-among the trees, beneath the open sky, near the rivers and mountains, in the quiet and wild places where your spirit still lingers. Fly free, my fearless, gentle son. Until we meet again, wherever the wind carries your memory. I love you JD, my beautiful son.
