age 86, of Birmingham, AL. was called home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2014. Shirley enjoyed supporting missionaries, keeping up with current events, bird watching and animal watching. She attended Shades Mountain Independent Church and First Baptist Church of Birmingham. Shirley retired from the VA Hospital and she was once Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of the city of Birmingham. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Browning and daughter, Alana Browning. She is survived by her sons, Dane Browning (Karen) of Duluth, GA and Philip Browning of Birmingham, AL; daughter Rhonda Browning of Baton Rouge, LA.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Online condolences may be expressed at www.crowellbrothers.com.
