Johnny Allen Huskey, Jr., 50, of Asheville, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville. An Asheville native, he was the son of Johnny Huskey, Sr. and Betty B. Sherrill. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Bas Huskey. He was a treasured man. An unwavering and loving husband and father! No man could love his wife and daughter the way he did, and he told them so every day! Jennifer, his wife of 24 years was the love of his life and he was hers. His unfailing love was never doubted. He always said when it's your time to go the Good Lord will take you no matter where you are, on a plane or walking down the street! His wife and daughter are so proud of him and are so thankful for him. He was a hard-worker; a retired MMA fighter and teacher and was very humble about his achievements, never bragging or talking about them even though there were many numerous achievements as he was on several magazine covers as well as articles, seminars and classes! You just have to listen to his family, friends and students to know the amazing impact he had on so many people whose lives are forever changed by having known him! He was an unbelievably precious man! He loved the Lord and his family, and always said as long as he had them, that was all he ever needed! He was incredibly spoiled by his wife who loved him more than life itself! He even said he knew he was spoiled rotten but he was an appreciative spoiled! Born in and raised Asheville, North Carolina, he loved the beautiful mountains and all they had to offer. He will be incredibly missed, as he was and is an irreplaceable treasure! His love and heart will be treasured forever! Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jennifer Huskey; their daughter, Grace Eleanor Huskey; his father, Johnny A. Huskey, Sr.; his mother, Betty Biddix Sherrill; his brother Leslie and his sister Angie; as well as numerous friends and students. A Memorial Service for Johnny Huskey, Jr. will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Brevard with Rev. Mo UpDeGraff and Rev. J. Robert Thompson officiating. To leave a condolence for the Huskey family, please visit "obituaries" at www.moore-fh.com. Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations is serving the family

Johnny was one of the finest human beings I've known. He could be hilarious, and he could be serious. But he was always great.

Growing up I was always at the Huskey household in West Asheville,"Little Johnny" is what we called him. The 2 things I remember most , you could never get him out of the bathtub to go to school on time and he would NOT go if he didn't have a clean "Alligator shirt", the shirt of the 80's. Bless You....Little Johnny.....Rest In Peace. And to the family.... Wow, sounds like he grew up to be an amazing man. In My Thoughts & Prayers.

I am so sorry. I am at a loss for words. We loved Johnny. If anything let his early passing remind us to let the love flow, to not hold anger in our hearts. I am sure he would agree! R.I.P sir #teamhuskeyforlife

My brother, its been a long time since I saw you, but I will never forget the good times, at decko;s and a early morning meal at Hot Spot. What a great fighter, I remember working out with you, and the kind words you always had each time we meet. You will be missed, so much talent, may our Lord hold you in his arms for ever. I am so sorry to hear about Johnny's passing. I worked with him many years ago at Walmart and he was the best LP associate we ever had. I knew he had gone to much better things in his life but he was always someone us longtime associates reminisced about and missed. My thoughts are with his family as you grieve him. Just know he's begun his next journey and he is greatly blessed. ❤

Johnny is my cousin but he was more like a brother to me. I thought of him quite often and although I live in Texas now we communicated with each other quite often. I will always be so very proud of Johnny not for his achievements but the great person he was. I pray that God will bless his wife and Daughter at this most difficult time.
