Johnny Ray Kendall, 64 years old of Tickfaw, born May 11, 1947, in Hammond, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. Mr. Kendall was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired Louisiana state trooper, worked for the U.S. Marshals Service for 10 years and was employed with the Department of Public Safety. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lisa Richardson Kendall; granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth Whiddon; grandson, Jonathan Kendall; and two sisters, Mary Jane Cameron and Clara Thorton Kendall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Joan Dowd Kendall; granddaughter, Jade Nicole Kendall; parents, Raymond and Josephine Cardinale Kendall; and brother, Joseph Oscar Kendall. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. until service in the chapel at 1 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. John, you will be missed.It brightened my day to see you walk through the door @ LA Department of Insurance. Even after I moved I still had to call to check on you. I thank you for your guidance,caring,funny personality, and dedication to all of us.
