Johnny Phan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 5, 2018.
Johnny Hai Phan was born in Hue, Vietnam on January 14, 1953. In his youth, he enjoyed painting, art, and tailoring which are hobbies that he honed throughout the rest of his life. After he finished school, he enlisted in the Vietnamese Air Force and eventually graduated as an air cadet of unit 72A. Completing the aviation training was one of the proudest accomplishments of his life. He formed many lifelong friendships from this experience. During the turmoil of the Vietnam War, he courageously journeyed to the USA to seek a better life. Arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada on August of 1980 with no money to his name, Johnny worked in restaurants and tailor shops to build his new life. Here, he met and fell in love with Theresa Phan whom he married on September 3, 1988. They had two sons: James and Jason Phan. Along the way, he began a career in the booming gaming industry of Las Vegas. Through dedication, he became a table games dealer at Bellagio where he was an employee for nearly twenty years. He never failed to prioritize the needs of his family over his own. In his children, he instilled the values of hard work, integrity, and altruism. Throughout this part of his life, Johnny enjoyed traveling, hiking, and simply spending time with family and friends. Surrounded by his loving family, Johnny Hai Phan passed away at the age of 65 on April 5, 2018. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
