Jolene Woodward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
Jolene Katherine Woodward, 82, passed away on February 18, 2025, at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was born on April 15, 1942, to Joseph and Evelyn Kocer at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon.

Jolene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kennith Woodward; her children, Michael Woodward (Tanya) and Cheryle Silbernagel (Troy); her grandchildren, Ryan Woodward, Lewis Labrasseur, Austin Silbernagel, and Taylor Silbernagel; and her great-grandchild, Kasen Silbernagel. She is also survived by her brothers, David Kocer (Ann) and Richard Kocer.

In 1964, Jolene graduated from Springfield College of Beauty and built a successful career as a salon owner. She first established a salon in Eugene before relocating to Stayton and later opening Jolene's Hair Fashions in Lyons, Oregon.

Outside of her career, Jolene was actively involved in community events. However, her greatest passion was racing. She and her husband shared a deep connection with Woodburn Drag Strip, where she competed in the Sportsman class. As a dedicated racer for Team Woodburn, she participated in competitions for nearly two decades.

Jolene will be remembered for her dedication and vibrant spirit. Her presence touched many lives, and she will be greatly missed.

A Rosary and prayer service will be held on Friday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Lyons, Oregon. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, March 22nd from 1:00 - 4:00

Jolene was a wonderful person, hair dresser. We had a wonderful time with Jolene and Ken when Michael was racing they sponsored his race car and Mike and Ken worked his car in Ken's shop. We went racing together and had a great time. Jolene will be missed but never forgotten.

My friend, I miss you. I wasn't ready for you to leave us. We had so much fun together for so many years. You're such a beautiful person inside and outside. Your pain is gone and you so deserve to be pain free. Until we meet again, I love you my forever friend.
