JON ANDREW DeLEERS

November 5, 1963-March 6, 2025

Of Fredonia, WI, passed away suddenly after a long, brave struggle with kidney disease.

He was born in Milwaukee and raised in Whitefish Bay, where he attended Holy Family Grade School and graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1982. He remained friends with many of his classmates.

Soon after graduation, he began his career as a truck driver. Working first for Hunt-Vern, USAV Group and later EKG Trucking, he was a focused, diligent and trusted employee. Whether driving a local dump truck or a cross-country semi, he always placed the safety of others first. Jon would drive truck for 35 years until a nearly fatal kidney failure led to early retirement in 2017.

He bore the burden of thrice-weekly dialysis with grace, never missing a family get-together or a chance to Facebook post and comment. He remained a faithful "chauffeur" for his mother to the end. He will be remembered as a genuine, kind, upbeat man-and a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

Jon was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence. He is survived by his mother, Pamela (née Covert), and siblings Stephen, Anne, Mary Huntsinger, Suzanne Moore and Kristen (John) Kamysz. He is further survived by his uncle Chris (Laurie) Covert; nieces and nephews Lauren DeLeers, Michael (Amber) Carey, William Huntsinger, Emily Moore, Jacob (Stacey) Knowles, Wesley Moore, James Huntsinger, and Madeleine (Riley) Johnson; great-nephews, Finley Knowles and Dorian Johnson; great nieces, Finleigh, Norie and Aoife Carey; first cousins Karen (Matt) Capaldi, Clay Covert, Jenny Casey, Melissa (Jamie) Snelson, and Anne (John) Schwittay; and dear friend, Ruth Hafemeister.

His funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 13 at Holy Family Parish in Whitefish Bay. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. Refreshments to follow in the Parish Hall.
