I will be riding a roller coaster of emotions for the next week or so just as I have been when I heard of his death. But after his memorial service, Jim and I went for a hike and I saw so many lovely things in nature and thought about how he loved nature. He wants us to continue on with our lives valuing everything in nature and in each other. I couldn't have asked for a better brother!

I volunteered with Jon as my leader on Saturday mornings. Jon's infectious smile and warm welcome always made me feel like I was a valued member of the team! His love for the raptors and knowledge of the differences between the species is something I will always aspire to, yet may never reach the level of knowledge he had. Andrea - my heart just breaks for your loss - I am so sorry! Jon will be missed!

I volunteered with Jon at Birds of Prey. He was always so nice and easy going and such a gentle spirit with the birds. I am shocked and so very, very sad that he is gone. My heartfelt condolences to his family. He will be very missed.

It is pretty rare that I look though the newspaper and more rare that I glance over the obituary. Today was a very sad day when I saw Jon's name in the obituary. Jon and I were friends at Pomona High School. We both graduated the same year. I remember Jon as being such a nice guy. I remember him playing the French horn and we both had similar interests in electrical engineering and computers. If I knew how to reach out to folks from the class of 87 I would do so as I am certain there are many that would like to pay their last respects. Rest in peace Jon.

Jon sure sounds like he led a sucessful life that contributed much to making all of our lives better and easier. His hard devoted time and work should be another excelent example to us all. Losing a child must be horific. But being able to look through the tears and devistation there will always be a bright ray of pride. God Bless Jon and Parents

My deepest sympathy to the Lutz family. I have many fond memories with John from childhood. John was always a joyful person who brightened everyone around him. John and Andrea are such a special couple that I enjoyed spending time with back in the day. Andrea my prayers are with you during this difficult time. John will be missed by all.

I went to high school with Jon, always as his 2nd chair, no way I could compete with his horn prowess. He was brilliant, witty, and kind. Hearing of his passing makes the day darker. My most sincere sympathy.
