Jon Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2025.
Jon Michael Moore, 87, passed away suddenly on October 1, 2025, at home in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on February 13, 1938, in Hillsboro, Texas, Jon lived a life marked by faith, service, and a deep commitment to sharing the love of Christ.

Jon began his professional journey in the field of pharmacy. After earning a pharmaceutical degree from the University of Texas, he owned and operated his own pharmacy. However, his path took a transformative turn when he felt the Lord's calling to preach. Obedient to that call, Jon pursued a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary while pastoring a small church-balancing both vocations with unwavering dedication.

His ministry was profoundly shaped by his association with Manley Beasley, a well-known revivalist whose influence helped deepen Jon's spiritual walk and preaching mission. Later, Jon and his family moved to Euless, Texas, where they became members of First Baptist Church Euless under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy Draper. This period marked a significant chapter in Jon's spiritual journey as he experienced personal revival and further committed himself to helping others rediscover their passion for Christ.

Jon had a unique gift for communicating the life-changing Word of God in ways that resonated with people from all walks of life. His sermons were not only biblically grounded but also deeply relevant to modern culture. Through his ministry, he inspired countless individuals to deepen their relationship with Christ and live out their faith more fully.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Moore; daughter Kim Moore Draper and her husband Bailey Draper; son Michael Moore and his wife Bonnie Moore; granddaughters Taylor Lagow (husband Drew) and Ashton Beisel (husband Devin), Lindsay Langholz, Lauren Langholz; grandsons Jon Draper (wife Emma),James Draper, and Sam Moore; and great-grandchildren Isaac Beisel, Camden Beisel, Jace Beisel, Noelle Lagow, Allie Lagow, Maddie Mae Draper and Annie Ruth Draper.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents Mary and C.E. Moore; brothers Leonard, Gene, and Jerry; and sisters Mary Margaret and Elizabeth.

Jon's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his compassionate heart and unwavering faith. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire others to walk closely with the Lord he so faithfully served. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Cross City Church Euless 1000 Airport Freeway, Euless TXServices will be held in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

I didn't have the honor of meeting him, but I did meet his son, Michael. From him I know he was a good father, and that his seed bore good fruit. Now he stands before the Lord, seeing all that he sowed.
