Jonas Sparks Uland

Jonas Sparks Uland, 69, of Linton, IN passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born to the late Jonas A. and Freida F. (Sparks) Uland on November 2, 1956. Jonas graduated from Bloomfield High School and received a Business Administration degree and a Master's in Healthcare Administration degree from Indiana University. He served as the CEO of Greene County General Hospital in Linton, Indiana and taught Healthcare Administration at the Indiana University School of Public Health. He was also a member of the Greene County Council.

He is survived by Debra Uland, who he married in 1985, his sister Beth from Spokane, WA, and his twin brother, Jim (Kelly) from Zionsville, Indiana, as well as his son Jacson (Christina) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his daughter Courtney in Linton, IN. Jonas loved his five grandsons, Korbe, Kalvin (aka, Little Jonas), Graham, Mason, and Hayden.

Jonas attended Providence Baptist Church in Jasonville, IN. He was a member of the Linton Rotary Club and Elks Club as well as the Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge in Bloomfield, IN.

Jonas was a man of strength, optimism, levity, patience, and kindness, and always ready with a warm smile, a joke, and support for anyone in need.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Shawn Kell officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield, IN.

Public visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Greene County General Hospital.
