Jonathan Friesen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 21, 2024.
Jonathan Kane Friesen, known affectionately as "Kane Insane Friesen," passed away on October 11, 2024, in Throop, Pennsylvania at the age of 42. Born on February 21, 1982, in Edmonton, Alberta, Kane spent most of his life in the United States but remained a proud Canadian at heart.

Kane was a man of many passions, celebrated for his love for his family, animals, and a multitude of hobbies including woodworking, cooking, and singing karaoke. He was also an accomplished bartender known for his ability to tell captivating stories and silly jokes that brought smiles to many faces. Kane's adventurous spirit was most evident in his career as a professional Freestyle Street Extreme Athlete. He excelled as a stunt riding champion, holding the World Record for the Fastest Endo at an exhilarating speed of 137 mph. His achievements earned him over a dozen sponsorships, and his dynamic presence was likened to a meteor lighting up the sky.

Despite his struggles with depression, Kane was consistently placing the needs of others before his own. He supported those facing mental health challenges, advocating for compassion and active engagement in the lives of those affected.

Kane leaves behind a loving family: his mother Kathleen Friesen, father Terry Friesen, wife Carly Ann Rose Magnano, uncle Raymond (Gaylene) Ell, aunt Carol (Michael) Ell, uncle Robert Ell, grandparents Arthur & Noretta Stephan, cousins and countless friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Kane had always dreamed of doing a "Wheelie Across America" for charity. Though he never had the chance to fulfil that dream, it is now being organized by Josh Berman in honor of Kane's life and legacy to raise awareness and support for suicide prevention. Those wishing to help Kane complete this remarkable journey you are welcome to join. For more information on how you can participate email inquiries to Josh at: [email protected]

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kane's memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Donations can be sent through the following link: https://supporting.afsp.org/campaign/KaneOne

The John F. Glinsky Funeral Home in Throop, PA, is assisting the family during this difficult time. Kane's vibrant spirit and heartfelt kindness have left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire and resonate.
