JONATHAN D. SHARP  
Jonathan Douglas Sharp, 49, of Topanga, CA, died on October 11, 2011, surrounded by family. He had courageously battled cancer for a year. Jonathan is survived by his wife, Stephani (née Munatones); daughters, Maya and Nina; parents and step-parents, Hélene Déramond, Theodore L. Totman, Sheryl A. Sharp, and William L. Sharp; sister, Sarah Hélene Sharp, and her husband, Barry Jackson. Jonathan was born in Hyde Park in Chicago, grew up there and in Wilmette on Chicago's North Shore, and spent formative summers with family in the Pyrenees in France. He spoke excellent French. He earned a BA in Philosophy at Yale and an MBA at UCLA. In the mid-80's, he worked for U.S. Representative Dan Mica while living in Arlington, Virginia, and, then, at the European Economic Community while living in Brussels, Belgium. While in Arlington, he won a local triathlon. After earning his MBA, Jonathan stayed in California to pursue careers in educational software and real estate finance.
