Joni Smith Bryant

Joni Smith Bryant, age 56, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at MD Anderson Medical Center. She was a native or New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Joni was a 1982 graduate of L. B. Landry High School. She continued her studies and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. Joni was employed as a Registered Nurse and Utilization Manager with Ochsner Medical Center. Beloved wife of Rev. Dr. Gregmann Ford Bryant. Loving mother of Jasmine Creasenia Bryant, Gregmann Ford Bryant, Jr., Jeremy Joe Bryant, and Justin Samuel Bryant. Daughter of the late Richard Smith, Sr., and Mildred Hughes Smith. Sister of Geary, Kip and Corliss Smith, Gaynell (Horace) Dorsey, Carolyn Holt and the late Richard Smith, Jr. Joni is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mark Fourth Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of Ochsner Medical Center are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor; Rev. Dr. S. E. Bryant of Snow Hill Baptist Church in NC, officiating.
